Thanks fenj66 - my X5 was Jan 06 build - can only presume its a different ULF module - unless I've set the fone up incorrectly

First SE k800i I've heard of that doesn't show SMS messages - sorry to hear you went through all that effort not to get this.
Take it no messages on the phone and you've deleted ALL paired devices first before adding this new phone? Clutching though...

Yup - also tried a mate's K800i - same result - I have discovered the ULF I have supports ASSIST (although no active subscription) - there is some chatter on forums that ASSIST-enabled ULFs won't port messages and don't support VR either - could I swap the module for one that does and which one would I look for ?
