Yesterday, I gave it another 6k mile oil change, replaced the rear brake pads (with the help of iCarSoft, to wind-back the EPB motors), and fitted the summer wheels/tyres. Mileage is now back down to a monthly average of c.500.

Today is the fifth anniversary of my F25 ownership. In that time I've covered 50,115 miles, and I've now owned it longer than both the first two owners put together.

I spent all the daylight hours yesterday replacing the steering tie-rods and ends, and front discs and pads. The steering was advised on the last MOT, and the next one is this coming Monday. I just need to finish rebuilding one side this morning, and change all the filters (the fuel filter is getting done with the MOT). Then I need to get a 4-wheel alignment done.
I've documented elsewhere on the forum the purchase of a paddle-shift steering wheel. I've booked-in to get it enabled on Friday, so I'd better fit it.........
Then the only thing left to do is swap to my winter set of wheels.
I'm starting to think I'm really getting too old for this working on the garage floor malarky.

I know that feeling! I can’t get mine into the garage to it’s cold tarmac for me

No pictures of your steering wheel conversion?

Seeing as you asked.............
Can anyone spot the subtle difference from the common-or-garden F25/F26 paddle shift 'wheel??

I'm not familiar with what was original, its the same aside from the paddles or different altogether?
Either way thats a nice neat upgrade. If its from a used vehicle its in remarkably good condition too.
I changed my regular sport steering wheel with the silver trim piece to the M Sport version. I imagine you're as pleased now as i was then. Still not convinced you'll use the paddles very much when the novelty has subsided.

Not that different. Nappa leather, rather than basic "printed" leather. And the paddles, of course, but the same design/size 'wheel.sapphireblack wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 1:22 pmI'm not familiar with what was original, its the same aside from the paddles or different altogether?
The trims are a bit of a mix'n'match. The car came with the silver trim, which I've never liked but never got 'round to doing anything about. The paddle-shift 'wheel comes with the ///M badge and black trim. So, I swapped the black and silver trims and fitted the non-///M lower part from the displaced 'wheel.
You may well be right, but it's done now.sapphireblack wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 1:22 pmStill not convinced you'll use the paddles very much when the novelty has subsided.

Looks very similar to the MSport wheel that was in my 2 series - no doubt these wheels are used widely across BMWs ranges. Very neat job, and looks the business

Not a fan of ///M adornments.
Fresh MOT today, no further work needed. Should be OK for another couple of years now.

Me neither particularly, although in my case the steering wheel badge is in keeping with the wheel badgesl.
What i do find amusing are the randomly applied M boot badges on all manner of BMWs. I've actually seen an M badge on a non BMW car :
