TIS alternative

Post by sapphireblack » Sun Sep 17, 2023 8:04 am

Is there one?

TIS was great though i used it infrequently. i can't find anything that seems to ' replicate ' what was once available.

I would like to obtain the RHD version of #4 to start off with, which is circa £90 😲 for a genuine part on eBay. If the P and perspex panel weren't compromised i could have bought a black or even a coloured frame, lots on eBay.

i'd also like to see what is involved in accessing the side decor trims with the knee pads.

You may find that you can buy a copy on ‘that’ auction site. The catch is making sure it’s a late version as some only go up to 2009.

Instructions…..need to dis the battery first! If BMW broke it, shouldn’t they be fixing it? Do you need to take it all out?

Selector trim in next reply….

Special tools are trim removal tools you can buy pretty much anywhere.

Im very grateful for that and your time in producing it 👍

I fear an argument may ensue. This was reported on Thursday, i've heard diddly squat since. I'm told only that the person who needs to be consulted wasn't available all day on Friday. If i have to, I'll replace the selector lever trim as i identified, and live with the decor trim scratches. Theyre not significant, but its a matter of principle.

I'm planning on selling the car next spring. I'm back to Greece very shortly for a winter stop over and my thoughts, due to a change in personal circumstances are to repatriate the Touareg and just have that here in blighty. It's not quite as sofisticated, though not far off the X6. Its older by four years with more miles but it's all i will need. It's not a precious vehicle either, which is a bonus.

I'm done with paying a fortune to BMW dealers only for their techies to damage my car. When it was in for the washer bottle unblocking, they managed to scratch the wheel they'd removed.

My thanks again 🙂
