Tyres replaced abroad

Post by Barroni » Wed Aug 23, 2023 7:11 pm

Evening all

Quick question if I may. I have. 2017 x3 35d, the car was fitted with Pirelli p.zero run flats all round. I had a complete blow out (1) on the rears while in France.
After a few translation issues the garage have fitted 2 Pirelli p zero run flats at the back but I noticed the usual * marking is missing. Does this matter? The fronts for example do have the * and the original
Rears also had the *.

Thanks in advance

The main concern would be whether there is more than 2mm tread depth difference front to rear? Keep an ear out for any unusual noises or vibrations.

Technically BMW would ‘prefer’ you only use ⭐️ marked tyres, and there have been issues in the past that might have been down to tyre choice, but without detailed technical examination proving such would be tricky.
