Comfort access.

Just curiosity

My car has full comfort access, soft close door etc. I read recently that with comfort access, door mirrors would fold in with a long press on the lock button. In my case they dont.

I'm left wondering why 🤔

Can you select it in the iDrive? My X6 doesn’t have the soft close bit, but the iDrive for that one and the i4 has a select option for mirrors. I never bother after all the horror stories of problems in the E53 (mirror position switch fault within the mirror itself).

I'll have to check. I find the iDrive a little overwhelming and confusing sometimes. There is so much info and choice. I subscribe to simplicity, i probably shouldn't own a BMW.

Where might i find the mirrors settings?

Somewhere in ‘Settings’ would be my first place to look. I have a different iDrive (CIC System) and BMW move things around. It’s something like ‘Mirrors fold on lock’ and a check box. Might be under Comfort Access settings as well.

So i trawled my idrive today, every nook and cranny, twice. There are no comfort access settings within, maybe its a later model feature? If i buy the Bimmercode tool, perhaps thats the only option, but pressing a little button on the door panel isn't too taxing.

You might be better with Bimmer Utility now. It has less risk of bricking the car in using it. I’ve seen it referred to in ‘other’ forums and seems well thought of.

Website not exactly clear is it! “Many BMW, Mini models including F&G”. Hmmm

Off-putting to say the least.
