I personally think it shouldnt be rocker cover as they generally go more often on the petrol versions, but in probably wrong. Will start with the turbo feed lines. The smell of oil burning through the heating vents is a pain. Only on uphill drives when I first drive the car

One of the turbo lines which is hard to access due to being behind the turbo has a rubber joint piece where it goes into the block and has a tendency to leak from looking at youtube videos , no oil burning smell here thankfully but can imagine how annoying it would be .

Its on the original 20's now with winters but I have a set of summer 21's but due to one thing or another they haven't been on since 2021 , I was for putting them on this year but with not using it there is no point now as it will soon be winter again. :headbang: The 21's look nice but the ride on winter 20's is far better and they are lasting really well despite all year round use , about 19k I think on the fronts now and still 5mm thread :driving:

I'm guessing it's the pirelli scorpions? My E70 35d is parked up at moment as I have bought an F15. I need to put it on sale. It's got 197k but it still sounds and drives the same as when I bought it at 6 years ago 140k miles it had then. That also has the 20s with winters. I bought the tyres off ebay part worn.

The winters were non runflat and a cheap brand called Rotalla ice plus and id definitely buy them again no complaints here :driving: Mine has 168k now really imo 200k is good going for most cars , few get past it ,id be worried about the autobox after that but things can go at any time as we know . :D The only things I see for sale regularly with more than 200k are b6 passats and mine is about to turn 245,000 miles soon :driving:

I have had the autobox rebuilt at around 180k miles, It used to go in to neutral on longer runs, did it on motorway once too. The reason why it happened would have been due to oil not being changed

Definitely worth sticking to the 50k miles/8-yr change interval ZF state (ignore BMW!). Had mine done a couple of years back and it made a world of difference.
