Don’t tell BMW, they’ll patent it and make it a ‘special tool’ :P
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Mirror not dipping

I don't believe it's an official BMW reseller, so BMW may try to duck-out of any warranty. However, I figured that a new motor for roughly the price of a secondhand mirror is the better option. The mirror may not be any better than what I already have.
The motor should be with me by the middle of next week. I'll do the job the week after that, as the car is away until next weekend getting the Waxoyl treatment.

Mirror not dipping

Post by StuBeeDoo » Mon Sep 09, 2024 4:09 pm

Sixteen months on, finally fed-up of having to remember to dip the mirror, and also of seeing the LIN-bus error on my iCarSoft every time I do a scan, I finally got 'round to fitting the new motor I bought last year.

Normal service is now resumed. Must have been a coincidence that the failure occurred at the same time I had the mirror cover off.
