headlight retaining screws

Post by lezmtaylor » Tue May 02, 2023 3:37 pm

Could anyone tell me the name for the 10mm head retaining self tapping screws which hold the headlight unit in place.
There are two on the top and two hidden down the back of each headlight unit. What I need is the plastic piece which fits into a square hole on the top of the shell and the 2 retaining top screws each side screw into.
Bet it has a really weird name!!

Morning Lez
Just gone through the same hunt as always BMW make it so simple and logical !! Not
X5 Sport is in the right place with realoem the Screws are 4.8 x 9 (in the trim section) but the plastic insert for the top fixing is in Body section last part Connecting Elements as are the spring nut fixing for the lower mount.
Spring Nut 901648 x 4
Plastic Expanding Nut 379744 x4
Screw with washer 902267 x4

Got a full set screws and fixings from my local dealer he did need part number help though, I needed them as my top fixings just fell apart with age and being taken out a few times it cured an annoying zzzzzing rattle as well

Hope this helps
Dave

Just noticed I have put wrong year for my car. It is a 2002 E53 4.4 X5. Not 2022.
