Retrofit tailgate closing from inside
Retrofit tailgate closing from inside
Hi all, literally just joined and wondering if anyone else has done this. I have a 2011 30d with powered tailgate which can only be closed from button on tailgate itself…… I’m looking to be able to close it from inside also… has anyone else done this??

In theory it can be coded, however whether it works will depend upon the modules actually fitted. At the time yours was built, BMW decided it was ‘unsafe’ to allow closing from within. Various models released since can be closed from inside as they have a warning signal whilst the tailgate is moving.
I say ‘in theory’ because I have a number of options on my X6 that are now coded to work, but don’t actually function when tried.

Thankyou for the reply X5Sport….. was thinking of running a cable from current tailgate switch to wherever I’m putting secondary switch if coding doesn’t work.
