Changing breather assembly on 2002 X5
Changing breather assembly on 2002 X5
Can i fit the new style breather on my X5 E53 3.0d they look the same, but when i ordered one from bmw they said my modal can only use the old style housing, but they did same it si the same size unit.
Re: Changing breather assembly on 2002 X5
You should be able to - I did on mine. I had the old style and replaced it with the complete new style (breather AND assembly though). You can't put the new breather on an old assembly. I have an 04 facelift but you should be OK.
Got parts to agree to take back what I wasn't going to use free of charge (watch they don't try charging you a handling charge)!

Had the old style on my 2005 and swapped the whole thing over.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

As above I replaced the old spongy filter and unit for one of the new vortex ones on my 03 3.0D sport last month.
Made a huge difference to exhaust btw, used to get a fairly dark cloud on kickdown which is now pretty much gone....
