The i4 M50 I have on order is 544bhp and that was scary enough on the test drive! Road testers have achieved 0-62mph in warm weather of as low as 3.3sec (spec says 3.9 sec). The torque is there instantly and is continuous up to Vmax (limited to 140mph). The two motors spin at 19k rpm.
BMWs 6th Generation EV system, due in future models, is reportedly capable of 1200bhp without modification and will be varied depending upon the car it’s bolted to. The current demo model is for an electric M3 to have a motor at each corner rather than one per axle.

That's a serious amount of oomph, wasted on UK and most other roads. The more I've looked at this XM the less I like its styling,
