Noco seem the most popular but are they best?

Given any make will largely spend its time lurking in the boot or similar, does it need to be that expensive?

I've got one, an Audew brand with some nice features, used it a few times on my Touareg in Greece but never needed here. A quick flick on Google shows me a Noco Genuis which looks great value and doubles up as a trickle charger it seems, it could usurp the CTEK? no mention that I could see though of engine capacity as noted by numerous others, around £50 it seems .

Alternative is another Audew, though thats £70 ish and like the one I have which is kept in my wife's car, that car has a recent new battery but these things are insurance aren't they, pretty much guarantee on the day one would be needed it will be in the other car.🤔

The Genius 2 is too low power for ours. It’s suitable for 40Ah batteries and might struggle with the 90Ah or bigger that we have. Looks good though I have no experience of NOCO, and they get reasonable reviews/write ups. I leave our E46 on a 5 Amp charger over winter.

Think I'll stick with one I know, not sure about the name change to Andeman sounds a bit geezer-ish imo 😀

Impressive for thier size though you could buy a decent turbo diesel battery for the same money but Nodody wants a battery rolling around the boot

When I had need of one when in Greece a friend happened to arrive seconds before I turned the key. When I showed him what had started the car he refused to believe something so small could do it. I didn't run down the battery again to make a point but it's a comfort to have one on board, along with a tow rope, jump leads, tyre strings, puncture fluid and a pump. No wonder the boot is never empty :D

I’ve not needed one (yet) and I’m not sure it would get my incoming BEV very far either….

I think they’re a great idea and like you I can’t believe something that small can give that much punch. Must be in the chemistry I suppose. When as a teen I lived in the US of A, my parents Buick suffered a flat battery and the recovery truck person connected a jump pack that damn near boiled the car battery!

I have the NOCO GB70 and like it works well.
Also use it with my 12v tyre pump save wire all over the shop and also doing that reminds me to top the thing up.
Did have something like the op has
many years ago and a top recommended one at the time.
I used it a couple of times but it let me down so it went.
Being disabled i need the car to start one way or another.

I've got the Audew 2000, had to use it on my 4.4 X5 couple of weeks ago, worked a treat, well pleased.

Well, after a bit of wrangling it's now confirmed these are not in stock, with no forward delivery date offered. I just got refunded.

Looks like its Noco or Nowt 🤔

Might give one of these a go, I'm known to my close friends as Bazeus. S or Z doesn't matter very much ☺️
