New to this neck of the woods....

Post by Rushjob » Wed Sep 28, 2022 12:38 pm

Greetings!
We've just acquired a 3.0D X3 Auto here in very not sunny France ( it's chucking it down )
The car is in need of a bit of TLC but it goes, turns and stops very well indeed.
Prepare yourselves for lots of stupid q's, the first of which is what diagnostic system would you suggest to interrogate it's brains?
Thanks all

Hello and :hi:

The only stupid question would be the one you should have asked, but didn’t :D

EDIT - Just to add - I use a product called Carly for diagnostics. It uses a wireless/Bluetooth dongle and works on a tablet or smart phone. It has an annual subscription charge. Main Dealers use the INPA/ISTA software - copies can be got online and you need a Windows laptop. I don’t think it works with Macs.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

I'll give the INPA stuff a try thanks. Should work on a MacBook through a virtual machine running Windows.

I've got an automatic gearbox box oil change kit plus a swirl flap removal kit inbound that'll give me something to do....
