I am constanty reading how hot it is currently in the UK. Rail services disrupted or cancelled. It suggests the infrastructure isn't so well thought out?

It's a different scenario in Greece, not so many train travelling options, but it's warm here too, 40° plus daytime and not exactly cool in the evenings.

It was 40.0C on the car this afternoon, and felt like walking into a tumble-dryer walking the 200yds to get into it too!

Huge field fire burning about 1/4 mile north of home. Fire brigade in attendance now along with more Police than I think this area has seen in decades :P

Very strong easterly winds fanning it nicely. Don’t envy the Fire Service dealing with it in these conditions at all. Weather due to break down in a few hours with a new yellow thunderstorm warning replacing the red heat warning.

It’s above 30C in the house so our cats are not happy (nor are the house bunnies either). Fans on and damp towels down for them to lie on.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Possibly because our rail track only has a stress free tolerance of around 27-30C.....european tracks have a higher heat tolerance.
