Fancy an 1800cc BMW but with only two wheels?

Post by sapphireblack » Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:14 am

I noted this monster in the week during MOT and service on my car.

Its shaft driven with a beautifully polished prop in either Ali or possibly stainless. It looked like it had been cast, so probably alloy, about 50 mm diameter. The cylinders are huge.

I'd love to hear this tick over, but my request was declined.

Its a cool £20k but the pose value is enormous, like the bike 😎

Nice. I do miss riding (in good weather!!)

Triumph made a 140bhp/2.3 litre beast back in the mid-2000s. It was only about £7k back then - I'd dread to think what that might be today. For that sized powerplant I'd want a bit more than two-wheels :) .

The Rocket III was aimed at the US/AUS market

Nice looking bike, had a good look round one last week, whilst having a new rear tyre fitted to my R1250RS as a result of a puncture and temporary repair.
The bike is very heavy at 345kg rather long and only 89hp, although has masses of torque. It’s far to heavy and unwieldy for me
