Track rod assembly

Post by approved » Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:07 am

Morning

After waiting for an age to get lemforder track rod assembly's from Euro, I have ended up buying some Meyle ones instead

The ones on the car are seized, so cant be adjusted, so having gone to the tyre place to get them put on and aligned, they are saying they dont have the socket needed for the rod end bolt ( they did have but its not there....just my luck)

Anyone know the 12 sided socket size required? They had 30 and 27, but reckon its 28 and having rung snap on in front of me, they are quoting a few weeks minimum, so I've said I will try and find one for the job which they can fit in quickly once found.

Can anyone confirm that it is actually 28 and not 29?

Saves me buying both.

I’ve just fitted these today, Needed a 21mm and 22mm. At the rack end I used a monkey wrench and experience to not over/under tighten. They are MEYLE as well.

Thanks for the reply, turns out these ones are in fact 27 ( different rod end nut to those)

I did a load of research, ended up speaking to Meyle and they said defo 27. Went back, tried the 27 again and it went straight on.

Lol. Going back in on Tuesday for fitting and alignment and hopefully thats me done for another while...
