Hi has any one removed the temp senor in the top of the dpf while the dpf is in place easy or hard job with trolley jack?
Also has anyone removed dpf from car using trolley jack easy or hard ?
I sprayed dpf cleaner in though the back pressure sensor which has cleaned the ash out but not the soot in the first part ?
Any ideas would be help full thanks

The good book says the sensor is removed with everything in place. It does warn that you need to replace the pressure hoses if either the sensor or DPF are removed.
Never taken mine apart. It looks like a fair bit of disassembly underneath is needed:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
* Remove right engine support arm.
* Remove front underbody protection.
* Remove rear underbody protection.
* Remove exhaust system.
* Lower front axle support.

Full of soot as its not regening so you need to find out why that is first ,common culprits are the thermostats (2) you can unlock the hidden menu and find the temps but sounds like you have a code reader .
Without a lift a job like that is going to be very tricky if not near impossible and probably not help you if you just clean it and put it back it will soon fill up again if you don't sort the original fault

Its a nightmare to remove the DPF well on my 2009 35d X6...took my mechanic 4hrs...and then the new one wouldn't fit even though it was the correct part number, so refitted the old one after cleaning it out....total 9 1/2hrs

Have you checked whether or not any error codes are present for glowplugs? If they aren’t working the DPF won’t regen as the exhaust can’t get got enough…..at least that’s what happens on my X6.

i get a code 00480A clear the code and do force regen and you can feel the car regen,
thermosats changed 40,000 miles ago
glow plugs and relay about 35,000 miles ago
car has done 140,000 miles
does these mean anything to you guys good or bad tia??

480A is definitely a blocked DPF so if a regen isn’t clearing it (and it sounds like it’s trying but not succeeding ) then it will need more drastic action. My reading of this website:

is that your back pressure should be no more than 75mbar @ 2,000rpm. Give them a call to see if they can help maybe?

Reading back you say the stuff you put in the filter didn't clean the soot but just the ash but as I understand it the ash cannot be removed from the dpf without removing the filter altogether and backflushing , once its in its in for life and slowly build ups and eventually is end of life without some way of getting it out only soot is removed with regens
The engine ecu must use the back pressure to determine how much soot is in there , can't think how else it would do it so If you had a bad pressure sensor it would still think its full. I'm just thinking outloud here you need expert advice but if you used the cleaner correctly you dpf should now be clean of soot now unless it was very blocked to the point it too late to fix it
Does it drive ok at the minute and did it drive any better after you cleaned it , the usual problem is once it's cleaned it quickly blocks again as the original problem that stopped it regenning is still there so it still cannot work correctly
Are you doing a lot of short journeys ? as you really need to have a decent higher rpm in a lower gear if auto to keep it there (2-2.5k constant)run at least once a week for say 20 mins after its warmed to avoid these type of use issues

I think that when you spray the cleaner in the dpf though the back pressure sensor tube it’s only cleaning the dpf section and not the top part cat if I am correct this is why I am thinking about taking the temperature sensor out to fully clean from the top I use wurths dpf cleaner and it blow some crap out the back of the car for about 10 miles and as said the ash level in the dpf is on 2.1% but the soit is on 61% now when I do a regen it’s start to drop down but as soon as it’s stop it shoots back up to 61% ?
