Hi all.
The boot open and closed manually. All the buttons don't make it go up or down.
I had a quick look around and couldn't see any water?
Interestingly enough, I couldn't adjust the boot settings on idrive? It keeps staying at the lowest setting.
Any help much appreciated.

Checked the fuses? Sounds power related and the iDrive can’t ‘see’ the system.

Ah the battery in the boot was all wet. The control module to the left is ruined.
Any idea where the water has come from?
And is replacing the module an easy fix?

Usual sources of water are blocked roof drain(s) especially if a sunroof is fitted, leaking rear light clusters or boot lid door seals. Also worth checking that no boot drain plugs/bungs are missing as these can also let water in.
The Tech Inst says the module must be coded with ISTA/P. So, annoyingly, not quite as simple as plug and play. I can only assume the rest of the iDrive system needs to know the module’s ‘address’ so it can talk to and read from it?
