Cloudy headlamp clean

Post by A Blair » Sun May 02, 2021 2:14 pm

So I have had my E53 for some time now, it has ran perfect except for one ongoing glitch I will raise in a separate topic.
The front headlights had been clouding over with time as any plastic headlights will. I had bought a 3M kit a long time ago which a few members out here have tried.
I followed the instructions faithfully and just about finished although not to my satisfaction. So I grabbed my chemical guys vline stuff and polisher.
I used the orange pad and v36 chemical to do a little more polishing followed by the white pad and v38 chemical followed by a sealant. It is a considerable improvement over the original cloudy look. I now feel that it can be done better with sanding discs and chemical guys pads and chemicals. I spotted some discs on ebay that seem perfect for £5.94p.

Those turned out well , I did mine with a little kit of small rounds sandpaper type pads you mount in a drill of ebay but its hard work and all to easy to leave swirl marks in the plastic so a buffer/polisher is a much better job :D
