:hi:

Have a look at RealOEM on line. It’s a copy of the genuine BMW parts database.

If you use the last 7 characters of your VIN in the Serial Number box it will pull up your model. You can then find the part numbers that you need and go hunting in line.

Cotswoldbmwmini (member) will offer you a discount and fast delivery for any genuine parts that you need. They are a BMW Dealership. They’ll need the VIN too just to make sure of getting the right version of the car.

If you need to know exactly what options your car was built with then use a BMW VIN decoder on line to pull up the as built spec.

Good luck and plenty of folks on here will help with advice and experiences if we can. :D

Wow that looks like everything ahead of the firewall is missing. The fan motor might also be damaged by not being protected from water/dirt etc. It looks filthy.

I think that you need everything on the link below except part 6. Apart from the filter itself, you will probably only get these from a main dealer or scrap yard. It won’t be cheap.

What on earth happened to the missing parts?

I dont know why this happened! Is this cover makes the air conditioning slower or low cold?

It holds the cabin filter, water drains, air ducts and controls the air available to the climate system so without it all you have is a gaping hole in the firewall. Not good for fumes or comfort in the vehicle. Your climate control simply won’t work properly. The fan unit is also exposed so will suffer from risk of water damage. I can’t imagine that motor being cheap either (EDIT - just checked, it isn’t).

If the a/c itself hasn’t been used for a while (at least monthly) then a check for gas level and leaks should also be done. If the gas level is too low the system will not function correctly, if at all.

The back of the engine should be partly covered by the missing parts. It’s removed to get the engine cover off for servicing, but MUST be put back.

If you look at the link in post above for RealOEM, it shows parts as still available. Whether you can get the parts in your country I have no idea, but they are not marked as ‘Ended’ so there is still a stock somewhere - albeit possibly in Munich, Germany. They will need painting too.

A good body shop may try fixing, but to be honest repairing cracked and old plastics is a waste of time. You may need the steel structure behind it too if it’s bent.

Glad you found some of the missing items too

It looks like you have all parts It’s hard to tell whether the left hand part in your image is one part or two? It should be made up of parts 2 & 3 (check the parts slide). It may be complete but I can’t tell.

Check the condition of the rubber seal for cracks/splits etc but otherwise all good.

You also need to check that you have all of the screws & fixings (Parts 9 - 3 off, 10 - 4 off, 11 - 4 off). Other than that you need the micro filter.
