Hidden/special features - codable features

Post by ChrisLux » Thu Mar 11, 2021 9:48 pm

Hi guyz,

After 13 years with an E53 3.0d, I just bought a 2012 E70 3.0d, so I'm not really familiar with all things.

I'm looking to find out if there are any hidden/special features on the car, and also what things can be re-coded to make it more pleasant.

Could anybody give me a list of things I can try please?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers, Chris

I dont possess a coding device so only know the few things that are possible from within the i-drive system.

Useful things beyond that imo, are programing keys to seat positions for multiple drivers. Setting mirrors to fold on lockup etc and probably a lot more but you'll need a reply from someone other than myself with more info.

With regard to key/seat programming, i find it perplexing my older Touareg can do this without external intervention

There are a raft of things that might be codable but a lot depends upon exactly what options the car is fitted with and even what version of the firmware is ‘on board’ your car. Carly has shown me a number of options but the coding doesn’t actually ‘take’ or seem to have any effect even if now showing as having been coded as ‘on’ and therefore available.
