CCC replacement woes

Post by johnnyv » Wed Nov 18, 2020 8:59 pm

Hi, I have a situation where I’m confident enough to replace my head unit... The it’s damaged is the wife left the sunroof open and it has water damage :| but I don’t know what is compatible.
Currently on the car is 6583 9 165854. My car had DAB and listed on the options also having Professional Nav and BMW Hifi.

I’m hoping maybe 6583 9 191568 would be correct and I can code it to my car using NCS Expert.

Does anyone know what I can replace this unit with so I retain the usual functions?

Cheers Jon

Thanks Alan.
Yeah RealOEM shows me my headunit with these details:

65839165854
AT-CCC CD
From:03/01/2007To:-Weight:3.400 kgPrice:
Supersedes:
65839133784 (09/01/2006 — 04/10/2009)

So my part 65839165854 is AT-CCC CD (whatever that means) and the part 65839191568 is just CCC-CD... wonder if that makes a difference?

On https://www.online-parts.co.uk/bmw-spare-parts 65839165854 is cheaper than 65839191568, so does that mean its better and will work... I didn't think it would be this hard

You have the later version of the CCC drive (AT-CCC CD). Your second part number is the earlier version (CCC CD) used up until 2008. That suggests a compatibility issue as the part number does not show up against your model.

You might have more luck with 65839133784 which is the previous version of what you have and listed for both E70 and E71. It shows as being retrospectively interchangeable.

Thanks for that.

I've found exact match headunit now.... so in theory it is arrives and works should be ok to code to the car. Now my NCS Expert is playing up on the laptop.
Any how thanks guys.
