Does it ever end..
After my driver side rear window fell into the door cavity and I replaced the regulator I now have a pool of water in the footwell..
I’ve opened the door and water is coming from between the door card and metal part of the door. I’m sure I resealed the vapour barrier but maybe not.. It’s raining pretty heavy today so I’m not taking it to bits but is it normal for a lot of water to come in if the vapour shield is not properly attached? I thought it ran to the bottom of the door and out the drain holes.

Wet rear fpot well carpet
Re: Wet rear fpot well carpet
The door has to fill up a fair bit before it spills over the metal so it would suggest the drains are blocked. Perhaps on the last job a bit of the vapour shield got in there and migrated towards the drain hole and has blocked them. If you have water rather than dampness then it’s probably drains. Don’t forget to check door seals first which could have been disturbed on the last job.
Re: Wet rear fpot well carpet
Well you don't see this every day.. The piece of wood I had in the door to hold the glass up was still in there.. I forgot to take it out.
It seems the rain was going pas the window seal and then onto the motor then onto the back of the vapor panel then out through a break in the butyl seal at the bottom. I think.
All resealed and taped up so fingers crossed that's OK.
