Rear washer jet?

Post by Rocky-S » Tue Sep 29, 2020 12:34 pm

After a lot of searching & googling without finding the answer hoping someone can help?
Rear washer jet isn’t working, now the pump is working, under the mats are dry so I can only assume the jet is blocked?
How do I remove the rear jet to attempt unblocking it ?

Have you had a look at newtis.info? Copy of the official BMW tech instructions (aka Haynes Manual) on line. It should at least tell you how to get at it - assuming no one on here knows or has done the same.

You just need to remove the plastic trim that runs along the top of the bootlid. There's something like 5 press in clips but you do need to give it a bit of a pull/pry. That will give you access to the jet.

Another thing to try is swapping the pumps over in there washer bottle as although you can hear the pump if it's had it it may spin but not provide adequate pressure to actually fir the water out.

Didn’t know anything about an online manual so thanks for that. Regarding swapping the pumps over, does the washer bottle need to be removed or can you do it in situ?

Depends usually do need to raise it out the way to get to the pumps themselves. Worth checking the pipework in the bottled first by removing the trim and checking.
