X6 roof rails.

Post by sapphireblack » Sun Sep 20, 2020 6:50 am

My car doesnt have them but I've started to like the look. They would be purely cosmetic in my case and BMW themselves are offering them 'cheaply' now.

Does an X6 look better with or without?

This could be my car.

The opposite. I’ve got them and prefer them. I also use a roof box/bars so they’re kind of key to that capability. They don’t make any noise, are low profile and just practical.

I thought those issues were history. Seemingly not :x

I think it's an "eye of the beholder" thing.

Personally, I don't think roof rails suit the GranCoupe-ish styling of the X6 (or the X4, for that matter), but on the Touring-alike X5/X3/X1 they look fine - necessary, even.

Less is more perhaps?

As they are not a need at the current time, i'll defer a purchase for the time being at least :)

I like them personally. I've never used mine other than for holding onto to get to the roof for cleaning lol.

I used to do that until wet hands and footwear allowed me to slip, a painful outcome. I use hop up steps now, old man style :)
