Morning Henry
Been a pain in the neck for you so far lets hope the pressure sensor fixes it. As our cars are similar age and probably mileage this will be filed away.

Don't worry about the Passat owner he should notice at the gate post

We had that sensor (or its equivalent) fail on the E46 and I was very surprised at just how expensive they are!
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

If it was a guaranteed fix I’d probably buy new so I’d rather try the £5 jobbie first even though I’m aware that it’s only a year or two newer. Hopefully that’s not why it was scrapped :( Just such a PITA to get at to take 20 seconds to change the sensor.

So, I changed the sensor today and all is good, no lights. Initially I just took the plug of the sensor and plugged the replacement into it. Lights went out so I had reasonable confidence replacing the sensor would fix. Once I had the old sensor out I plugged it in and it still read 292 bar. Definitely bad sensor. You loose some fluid on change over so had to bleed again.

Great job Henry
It may have been a PITA but you beat the little beast. Now lets hop for a peaceful period !!

Just to keep me on my toes the X5's passenger door actuator died on Friday, fortunately our local yard had just got an X5 in so able to fix yesterday :D
