Can't remember actual price but think it was around a pound a litre from my supplying BMW dealer, which I thought was very reasonable and for a few litres not worth the hassle of looking elsewhere, but still got 5 litres or so in the garage to add at some time this year if required.

Ideally it should be used within 6 months, some brands say 12 months before it goes stale - whatever that means? It’s made from pig wee so I guess it can go off.

That timeframe could create some interesting problems given the much reduced miles most people have been doing during lockdown.

We’ve been using the F46 every other week for commuting 300 miles a week (Key workers), but that’s a good point. I’ll bet motor dealers will stop honouring warranties given a chance :x

Thanks X5Sport,
You can get a small container with the correct adapter from Amazon if necessary. I bought one a few years back to top the Škoda up (that used three times more than my F46 with the same sized engine does!). I just transfer from a 10L container to this and that’s it.

No forecourts around here have AdBlue tanks/pumps, and I’m not paying Dealer prices for it.

One of these: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/GreenChem-Ad ... 171&sr=8-3
Exactly, what I had in mind.

The car is going into the garage this Wednesday to have an Advanced Car Eye fitted, I suppose I could ask them to fill it up.
Normally if you want anything done at the Dealers they want the car in for the day

Ask them for a price per litre to top it up, you might be pleasantly surprised, I was.

The advanced eye is not cheap but does work very well

So I have had the Advanced Eye fitted, I will have a play with that tonight.
Also had the EGR cooler recall as per BMW guidelines.
I asked to have the Adblue topped up which they did, 10 litres and I wasn't charged for that - bargain :)

Good news on the ad blue

Have fun with the advanced eye, quite a clever bit of kit
