Well that's the least worst it could have been I suppose joints do wear and that weakens them allowing slop as you takeup drive / gear change etc leading to failure.

Had the cover of mine 2009sd to check today while up on the lift and looks like earlier cars don't have a uj on the shaft which is probably why it only became an issue from 2011 on.

Does this sort of thing take time to get confidence back and stop actually thinking about it while driving.
