Stoplock Pro Elite lock

Post by gmc15 » Mon May 18, 2020 9:34 am

Does anyone use one of these on an X5/X6 F15/F16 with the M sport steering wheel?
There is conflicting info on places that sell this lock, most say it will fit BMW's with M sport steering wheels but some say it will not.
Hopefully someone on here uses one and can clarify the situation.

Yes. I have one for the X6 40d with the heated & flappy paddle equipped steering wheel. Not sure what the difference might be for the MSport wheel unless it’s a bit fatter?

My wheel has a rim thickness of 33mm and looking at the clamp there is enough space for about 50mm.

It might be the internal diameter across the rim as if it is too small then the bend in the bar won’t allow for that. It fits through the wheel.

Thanks for that. There have been a spate of car thefts near where I live and my car is parked in front of my house so I want to add a bit more security to it. I have CCTV covering where it is parked but that won't stop someone stealing it.

Edited first post and added a piccie - if it’s if any use. It’s upside down despite attempts to rotate it. That’s ipads for you.

Here's a picture of my steering wheel. It looks like it will fit as my wheel is very similar to yours.

I use a Disklok on my X5, and on my previous Land Rover vehicles, check steering wheel diameter for correct size against their web site, it appears to be well made and fairly substantial, worth getting the wheel cover and a storage bag for it. Photo taken from disklok website

It depends on what car you have I use one on my 2017 X5 Msport but my daughter had an e70 Msport and it would not fit. If you have a f15 X5 it should fit no problem.

Not found a car the Disklok will not find onto - so far!

Also available from Halfords, so perhaps if you talk nicely to them they will probably let you try one to see how it’s fits

Disklok is a beast of a thing and a bit of a hassle to fit so people tend not to bother sometimes which limits its effectiveness. It is though 100% secure when fitted just watch the windscreen as it would be easy to whack it taking it on and off.

I've ordered a Stoplock Pro Elite and it should be arriving today. Think it will fit OK but if not it will go on my wifes car :)
