Prospective new owner, advice please

Hi all

As the title says I'm looking to buy an E70 X5 and have seen 2 I like, first one is a 2009 X35d se with the 286bhp engine 96000 miles and full history, other one is X5 3.0D 245bhp 2010 model with 114000 miles, both cars are very clean and within £500 of each other, which one would make the better buy?

In terms of modernity, the later model is better. You’ll get the later iDrive and a cleaner engine. The 35d was replaced by the 40d (still a 3.0IL6 Diesel engine but dual turbo config changed). 2010 also saw the update to LED angel eyes. 245bhp is still no slouch. The 40d is 306ps.

Thanks for that probably going to wait until lockdown is over to try them out, dealers are saying they deliver but I'd rather drive a few before buying.
