Why send it back? It probably got knocked open in shipping or something? Doubt it is used, as it is still sealed.

I ordered it from Car Parts 4 Less.

It is ni on impossible to re fit the spring into the outer housing, and consequently almost impossible to refit the unit into the engine block. As my previous posts indicate do NOT separate the spring from the outer housing.
