On Order

Post by Nicky P » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:56 am

Hi Guys,
I thought I'd throw in my mix, on order with individual leather. For whatever reason INDIVIDUAL pushes the delivery back a further 2 months ????? Delivery Mid-May. I decided to go for a darker col leather as previously had Oyster and this can stain easily. Black on Black is too harsh so decided to go for the slate grey interior with white piping. The dealer was trying his hardest for me not to pick an invidual option. This will be my first X5, normally M3. 335, 535 Driver all one year old max. Current 335i with highest spec

Is it recommended to have extra wheel locks ?

I thought all E70s came with wheel locks - why would you need extra?

For extra security, I had my 335 wheels stolen before so just being security conscious

Welcome to the Forum - and apologies for not replying to your (same) post elsewhere. Great spec btw! You may want to use your extra time to check your spec / get views on any potential changes on this forum with your extra time? For example, I don't know if you have an iPhone but you may want to add 6NR if you have - I've missed out on that for mine (see X5Sport's post under General Discussion). Hope that Oyster doesn't stain too badly - that's what I've gone for - due in less than a month!

I wouldn't bother with a second set of locking wheel bolts, the keys are easily available to anyone, if someone is going to get around one set of locks then another set won't make much difference.

No phone prep?

633 or 644, plus 6FL and 6NF/NR. Unless it's being added by default now? I think there was a plan to do this from some point this year.

I wish I was brave enough to go for the Black, but round here the roads are just too filthy!!

Picking up on X5Sport's comment, you are getting the media pack aren't you? You haven't listed it, and it barely costs more than the sat nav you have down, but includes much more than just the sat nav. It was being offered free anyway, or equivalent value in toys.

Yup the Media package was a complimentry option that includes USB port & DAB radio. In total without the Media option I got around 11% discount. To be honest I've never driven an X5, and was considering the RR Sport, but once a BMW fan always one.

Hmmm, BMW or RR Sport, now let me think.........er do I want poor reliability, bad Dealers and expensive parts? No? Better by a BMW then.

You made the right choice there. :driving: :D
