Another intriguing query - head light washers!

Good morning all,

Car is a 2018 F15 4.0d. Yesterday when on a longish drive in the dark along the A68 which had just been gritted cars in front kicked up a lot of salt onto the front of me. Headlights were on auto, but the headlight washers didn't work when I washed the windscreen. I switched the lights to "headlights on" and still no washers. Switched the wipers to on all the time and washed the screen - still no headlight washers! Reservoir was full when I set out.

I've noticed in the past headlight washing seems very intermittent. My old E70 used to wash the headlights at the same time as the screen whenever they were on.

Any ideas or help much appreciated...

Most do the headlight washers every fifth or third cycle of the screen washers....my e71 did as your e70 did but my e63,e46,e53 do it every 3 to 5 depending on which model.
