Bonnet cable snapped

Sigh

Went to open the bonnet and nothing. I can hear the cable making a noise under the bonnet so it has obviously snapped or come off at the junction box area at a guess under the bonnet.

Any ideas how I can get this hood open now? It's completely shut and the lever does nothing

Also could someone be super nice and take a picture of the location of the hood cable junction box so I know where to aim for if I take the wheel arch liner off

Have a closer look at the immediate area where the lever is, last time mine snapped (E53) it was where it connected to the lever and there was enough cable showing to grab with a pair of pliers and open the bonnet.

Quick follow up. Cable didnt snap, it did release the bonnet but the hinge was dried out and catching on one side and not functioning correctly.

I recommend everyone to thoroughly grease their hinges every year.
