Tyre pressures, E71.
My drivers door plaque, as i read it, shows 2bar all round for an unladen vehicle, is this common place and the norm?
I also need to establish from any F86 owners what pressures are given for the winter option 285 40 20 tyres. Online info suggests that F models generally run higher pressures than the E series?
Actual, real information would be welcomed please

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
Mine says 2.2bar and yes that’s what I run it at (on 20” wheels)
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Me too...2.2bar

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
275.40.20 all round ? as there is no 285.40.20 listed and its 2.0 front 2.2 rear looking at your pic if I'm reading it right but there was usually a 315 rear in which case its 2.0 rear as well The narrower the tyre the more pressure by the look of it and with the 255's used front and rear the rear is at a higher pressure going by that !

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
I clearly read the door sticker as 2bar all four corners, 275/315 tyres, so that's what I do.
A 285 40 20 tyre wasn't an option on the E series vehicles but is on the F86 specifically. Winter sets spec'd for that are 285 40 20 all round on 10" front and 10.5" rear rims. I'm adopting that position, albeit on 10 & 11" E71 rims. 285s are happily compatible on these width rims, what I need are the suggested pressures

sapphireblack, you wouldn't by any chance have come across a set of the 20" 611M wheels for sale anywhere, have you?

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
I did and I bought them. But i was committed to another deal too. I had to ask to be released from the 611 deal, much to my regret.
Fast forward and I now have an embarrassment of wheels in my possession. Only yesterday I bought a mint set of 435M wheels for the 285 40 Pirelli winter tyres en-route to me now.
Did you buy the 611s?

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
No, I'm trying to find a UK set of 611M's ideally with the Pirelli winters all ready fitted.
How long ago was you 611 'purchase' and would you happen to know if they are still available from the seller?
On another note, I don't think you can ever have too many wheels

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
The seller i bought from was in Maidenhead, he re-sold them already. It's a sore point as i got them for a paltry £250, but one wheel was VERY badly kerbed and the tyre wall was split. So, maybe two new tyres and who knows if the wheel was actually salvageable?
The kicker was the deal i sacrificed them for went pear shapped too, so i got nothing in the end The happy compensation for me is the perfect set I got yesterday with good summer rubber, albeit they will be swapped
There's a fair number of 611 sets with winter rubber on eBay.de but the pricing is alien to us, or at the very least alien to me.
Three spare wheel sets is too many, these days I dont have easy storage for that many.

£250 is my kind of pricing, shame that deal feel through.
The eBay.de sellers look like they've got brexit tax++ included

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
Just found these 303316452717 probably get a winters use out of them, wheels look nice but i think below 6mm winters aren't as useful as when new?
Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
I did see those but they are 2014 tyre manufacture and c.5mm tread, not for me, especially at that price
Thanks for checking

Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
Tyre age is overstated imo, though the price and tread depth on these is far from ideal.
Re: Tyre pressures, E71.
Winter tyres age much faster I found and the sidewall of one of mine failed at about 5 years nokians too not cheap winters and 2 always had slow punctures after about 4 years which was actually the carcass was porous.
