Re: New to me collection day !
Congrats on you new X5, and they do drive well.
I think the wheels as diamond cut will need looking after and once clean applying a good wheel sealant will help.

Re: New to me collection day !
Well almost 2 weeks done and have to say this thing is epic !
Mpg as usual on BMW is way off done nearly 500 miles Motorway and town driving average is 30.4 mpg supposed to be 47 mpg .
Comfort on those 21" rims is much better than expected I thought by now I would have had several trips to a chiropractor but all is well , I did test drive a new G05 X5 30d M sport before purchasing this one but it is the only car that had my wife feeling car sick in after only 5 miles , she was green by the time we came back from the lake district which is only 25 miles away & told me to take it back early as she wouldn`t be going anywhere else in it . I was a bit surprised how it bounced about and really leaned on corners even though it was in sport for a while it made no difference , I mentioned to the salesman when I took it back to which he said that they were now making it more for Range Rover drivers as it was a direct competitor , I told him if I wanted a Range Rover I would buy one but wanted an X5 as it drove more like a car . I did like the interior and quality finish but may try a 50d next year as the suspension is meant to be completely better .
Handling on the F15 has been quite surprising as I thought it would have been more like the E70 s not as polished as the E53 as with most modern day cars they are getting bigger in every way although the roads and parking spaces seem to be getting much smaller , although the car is mainly driven in Comfort mode it copes with bumps and uneven road surfaces very well .
Performance in comfort and eco mode it seems to be on a leash , some what restricted even muted which I suppose is what it is meant to be like , putting your foot down is some what delayed , however put it into sport or sport plus and the revs rise and mental mode begins it is faster to 70 than my Boxster which weighs an old Golf mk1 less , even to 147 mph I presume it will still be in front even if towing a trailer with a Golf on , the way it corners is very good although it does have a bit of body roll that the E53 didnt seem to have .
Interior is a very nice place to be , seats are Sport , heated with electric head rests , very comfy and adjustable something I could never be in the Active tourer before this , seating position is very good , visibility excellent although the parking sensors and rear camera do an even better job ( unless it is raining and the camera view looks like I have 2 jam jars on ) Hud is a must although it hasnt got speed display added , even though it has the new touch screen I drive I dont think that you can add it on . ( Our higher car last year a 2017 Renault had it on last year ) . Fit and finish is excellent , everything is within reach and the pano roof is a welcome addition to a fairly black cabbin . ( I wanted a black interior due to the E53 having a beige nappa leather interior that was never clean with 3 kids in )
The Blue led lights is a nice touch as the Gran tourer only has red and white which is a bit tight , puddle lights outside set the car off & help locate it in a dark car park or on the front if the lights are not on .
Outside I love the colour , it is the main reason for buying the car , I have seen quite a few black cars and while I love them they dont keep clean not even if you turn your head and look back after spending all day cleaning it . I bought the car on looks alone without even a test drive as I had been looking for 18 months for the right spec & was delayed waiting for the new ( G05 ) one arriving and thinking that I would kick myself for not waiting , but I am glad that I chose this one , one owner , 27,000 miles and remainder 5 year service pack which now sadly has stopped on the new ones , getting a 2 year BMW extended warranty thrown in on the deal was even better , it is just over £200 for road tax , Porsche is £335 , which is also good news .
I will carry on with updates if any interest and post pictures of the Polo that also arrived into the household last week , it has also been a great addition !
