Lost the plot?
Some of you will have read of the indecision and see-sawing with my desire for winter wheels. You're probably as bored as me too.
I've had some type 257 dedicated winter wheels for a while and had new rubber fitted only two weeks ago but they don't grab me despite they fall into the category of function over form.
So, my thoughts have wandered. What about a refurb, which two would definitely benefit from, but not in silver or black. What about BMW blue or even orange, both gloss finished Would this suit a premium, classy BMW with an old man driving it? Likely not but if ever fitted its only a few weeks at most and a bit of fun, i'd be easier to find if stuck in snow
Opinions sought.

Re: Lost the plot?
Why not.
Re: Lost the plot?
I've had thoughts of non-silver wheels over the years. White has often appealed to me, but they would need to be kept clean, and I'm just too lazy.
IMHO, black is wrong. Particularly when the tyres haven't been dressed for a couple of days and they become a lighter shade than the wheels.
I had both my winter set and the summer set on the E46 done in anthracite, which would have been OK-ish had the car not been Silbergrau and the wheels looked like they had been painted body-colour.
The winter wheels for the F25 could do with a refurb when they need new tyres, probably in time for next winter depending on how much tread is left after the coming one. I'm toying with the idea of Ferricgrau, but it would have to be the "B" shade.
Now I've finished hijacking your thread, I'll answer your question.......... Why the hell not?!?!?! But if you do,
BTW, I'm also an old man driving a premium, classy BMW.

Re: Lost the plot?
We are not alone
I like black wheels under some circumstances. I've been systematically "blacking out" as much as i can on my car as chrome to me is a big blingy.
Exhaust tips are now OE black gloss replacements, fog light trims are away at the painters now. Only the badges left.

Re: Lost the plot?
Now I've seen your car (is that Space Grey?), I think orange wheels would be too whacky. On the other hand, the blue in the BMW roundel, as you suggested, would probably be cool. Maybe do the calipers orange??
I'll get my coat.................

Re: Lost the plot?
Actually, now I'm thinking maybe get my winter wheels done the blue from the roundel. Could go quite nicely with the Bluewater bodywork.
Although, maybe not. They would need to be kept clean.

Re: Lost the plot?
I don't wash a car every weekend as i once did, I do wash wheels alone sometimes as it makes the whole car look cleaner
My car is Space Grey. I think you're probably right, orange is a bit out there, maybe on a sports car. BMW blue has some tenuous connection at least. I don't really like painted calipers, maybe black but not a visible colour.
I'll get some quotes, I'm sure BMW blue will be a special colour and a premium price
Clearly I lack picture editing skills.

Re: Lost the plot?
I wouldn’t worry too much about price, in 6 months time you can request a refund

Always believed sarcasm to be the lowest form of wit.
Had you sold me the correct item then six days or six months later, when discovering you've been sold a 'wrongun' it's annoying.

Nice bit of grey could work ,I think the orange or blue is a step too far but its your car and choice

Re: Lost the plot?
The car had grey and diamond cut wheels which I didn't like, whereas it seems you don't like the black replacements
