Reverse Camera Install (E53)

Hi Craig
You do seem to be struggling with this one mate. The power feed for the reverse lights is a blue/yellow wire you will find a small loom from the lower tailgate into the boot just right of centre. That is where I took my power from with a 5amp fuse inline to protect everything, then follow Sanj's diagram.
I would do that and test before mounting the camera (unless of course you have already done that) Even if you bin the camera still stick with Sanj's diagram, it really does work.

I know I just don't understand it, even the electrician at work is struggling to understand what the problem is? Maybe I've knacked the camera by chopping the wires and cutting out the inline resistor (oops) but it's soldered back in. Just got this diagram

So gonna make sure everything is alright tomorrow and get the spark to check connections etc as something is odd with this one. Thanks for help lads

Oh well traced the fault to the bloody camera!!! Different type ordered, at least the wiring is there now

It looks like you all have had fun installing camera, does any one have the diagrams Sanj’s has uploaded so i can have a look that would very appreciated

My pictures are back! I did nothing but was looking to get this fixed, looks like Photobucket have started to support hosting of pictures again....?

I'll check my other How To's.

looking at the wiring diagram for the relay is really confusing me. I thought pin 30 was always the +ve feed from battery????
