Wheel wobble and vibration all speeds when cold

My E53 facelift 3.0d has just started with wheel wobble from around 40mph up to 75mph and a faint rumble for around 10 minutes or so when on the motorway. The symptoms then fade away and don't return, only to reappear the next day when starting a journey. Car freshly MOT'd and no advisories, recent tyre and disc changes, transfer box and autobox fluid changes. This one has me foxxed!

My thoughts would be (1) Wheel Bearings (2) Drive shaft

I was thinking that too, it goes in to local garage next week - owner runs same car so may be a plus!
