A while ago my driver side window seemed to have some slack in its opening between pressing the switch to the regulator moving. It felt as if the cable was loose..
I replaced the window to cable slider clips and connecting plastic brackets but that didn’t cure the problem.
The way I found to get a solid feel to the window operation is to replace the through window connector bolt and capture nut with a standard 6mm nut and bolt. Just ensure there is a larger diameter washer on the glass side along with a rubber or nylon washer.
Don’t have the bolt too long either as it can foul the door strengthening bar when fully open.
Now my driver window movement is direct and closes with a firm thud. Doesn’t rattle when the door is closed with the window open anymore either.
I hope I’ve explained that in a reasonable way..

Re: E53 slack electric window mod
Well done, windows can be a pain and replacing with stronger parts always works.
