First post so be gentle (I did do a search but didn't find anything).
Hi, I have a 2006 BMW X3 M Sport Auto and noticed recently the gear change is very laggy. Also took it on the motorway and it seems to have lost power, doesn't want to go over 3K revs and takes an age to get there. Any ideas on what it could be or what I should be looking for/at as a starting point?

Have a good look at the vacuum pipes and any other air related ones.
Vacuum pipes are a common fail as they split at the ends and the bigger plastic air related pipes can come off and also split occasionally.
What engine is it petrol or diesel.

Thanks, I'll have a check of the pipes. It's a Diesel engine.

Very likely one of the small vacuum pipes split at the end and the turbo not working.
Start at the turbo.

Excellent, thank you for the advice. I'll start there, will update once I've checked it over.
