I thought I would take a break this morning and go out and swap over a replacement (Electrochromic) Wing Mirror Glass; bad idea - the old one 'popped' out quite easily however, the replacement didn't and, despite great car levering it out, the glass/liquid was damaged and started to seep out! OK, so not the end of the world as it was an old, used wing mirror however, the original one would not just 'pop' back in however hard I tried and that is now leaking!
So I now have a very ugly Near Side Wing Mirror with no glass!
In the short term, is it OK to just use a standard replacement mirror glass and is there a trick or knack to getting it back in?
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated!
Thanks
Neil

Re: Morning Nightmare
Not got round to doing mine yet but I think to get them off you slide the glass up a bit first then out.
I have seen it somewhere but can't find the info.
Not the same searing on this iPad as on my pic at home (in Egypt on holiday at the moment).

Re: Morning Nightmare
Did one of mine a couple of weeks ago, right sod of a job, tilt the mirror and it takes a remarkable amount of force and fiddling to get it on/off is all I can say, the TIS guide and stuff I found on the net looked like you should tilt it to look at the floor however when I did that there was no clearance between the mirror case and glass.
I managed to get mine on by tilting it up to look at the sky and then lining the slots up it clicked in.
Got one from Latvia on eBay for £60
