Four wheel alignment

Post by sapphireblack » Thu Dec 13, 2018 2:45 pm

Kind of wasted my money, though the steering wheel was slightly off centered and its still nice to know 100% all is good for even wear on new tyres.

In line with a recent discussion here, but i cant find It now, cost was £70 + VAT

Did they give you an after print out to show that everything had been corrected or is the one on the left the after print out?
Just looking at it it could have been adjusted slightly more, or did you ask for specific alignment.
It just looks a bit different to mine where they got everything exact on each side.

Left print is what it has now. I didn't request anything specific, tbh i wouldn't have known what to specify anyway.

All green is good afaik.

Should be. I dont know much about all this either.
What I can see from my print outs though is that there are parameters on either side of centre and these have measurements.
Like rear toe has to be between 0.03 and 0.07. They set mine bang in the middle at 0.05.
Or rear camber has to be between -1.25 and -1.35. Mine is at -1.30
The same for every setting, they adjusted it to be bang on the middle of the 2.
Mine did cost a bit more than £70 but everything needed adjusted apart from the front camber on both sides.

Blind faith in my case!
The people who did it use a Hunter set up and are Masseratti dealers so one would hope they'd know what to do. I could at least be in attendance and watch the work done, unlike at a stealers.
All green is good in my world :)

I need mine doing as Iv got uneven tyre wear. Do I need the new tyres on before i get it done so that eveything is level with the tyre surface or can I get it sorted now with the tyre quite a few mil down on one side to the other? Not sure how the machine works and if it would matter

Far from an expert myself but i would imagine set up on nice new square tyres would be better, worn edges must have some influence but how much I wouldn't know. Probably better to ask whomever you plan to use for the alignment check.

I got mine done yesterday and was £134! It does feel a lot better now though to be honest.
