Posting tyres

Post by mr angry » Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:57 pm

I have found a good set of part worn Bridgestone tyres on eBay but the guy said collection only in the ad. I have contacted him asking would he consider posting at my expense and he has agreed. I have had a look online trying to find out how much to post but it is proving rather difficult. Have any of you any experience of this and recommend anyone as one of the companies I contacted want £120 which makes it uneconomic. I see other sellers offering postage for the same tyres for around £10 each tyre.

myhermes should take them if they are under 15kg but had issues in the past where they failed to pick stuff up but they do have drop off places the sender could leave them into in a lot of local shops and about 10/12 quid a tyre.

I dont know how good the tyres are you are looking at but I still have 2 rears and 1 front that I am looking to get rid of.
All 3 have over 3.5mm at the lowest point
Bridgestone Duellers 20" staggered so 315 rears and 275 front.
Not too far from you if you were interested.

I managed to get it sorted eventually and then saw your post....just my luck. The ones I bought were Continentals as that is what is on the car just now and one of the fronts is badly tracked and the rears are pretty low. The other front is still very healthy.

I see you are also in Paisley, its a small world!

Just to update the thread. I eventually used Parcel force who were the cheapest at £26 for the 3 tyres as 3 separate parcels. I tried Shiply as they seem to get good reviews but I was getting quotes of £60-£70.

I did contact them initially as they are local and have used them for other items. However, they said tyres over 18 inch require to be put on a pallet which was expensive.
