Really sorry guys....I do still have pictures to post and updates to give but I'm just very very busy.

But yes.....still currently running 'ok' - done around 8k since the guides job now so due an oil change and I'm going to do a bottom end refresh at the same time as that's the next common engine killing issue to combat. I do also have another intermittent dicky lifter that I'll need to deal with at the same time as this too.

All good fun eh!!

In response to the OP question - without doubt do the the guides as a preventative proactive measure rather than a reactive one - becomes a much much bigger job otherwise with future knock on consequences.....trust me!

Completely agree with your comment on the knock on problems, the picture of that suction tube and strainer, there is no way I would have got all them bits out so they get mashed up in the oil pump and sent on their way to block oil ways.
