Old member - new 4.8is

Glad to back as a member of the forum at last


Purchased a high mileage 2005 4.8is in black sapphire metaillic and black interior


No fancy spec other than standard and a few issues to sort out including :


Air suspension fault (see other thread)
One rear window wont go down
Fuel gauge only reads 3/4 full even when tank is full
OBC display is stuck in French
One key remote does not work but does start the car
Slight brake squeak
One tyre keeps going flat
Radio reception is slightly fuzzy now and then
Sat nav pixels going.


Im yet to have it fully inspected underneath but im sure the list will be increasing and a full checking over

I have one in the same colours… other than cosmetic marks, mechanically and electrically it is spot on. I've had BMW Warranty since I bought it (still going now) so whenever there is an issue, it just gets sorted.

I'm looking to sell soon, so could I be cheeky and ask what you paid for yours so I can roughly value mine? PM if you'd rather keep it private...

A couple of tips for your problems:

1. Have you got speed camera warnings on your satnav menu? If you have you may have turned them off - turn them back on and it should go back to English.
2. Poor radio reception - my car suffers from this when I turn on the heated rear window. All is fine when it’s turned off.

Yea I managed to get it back to English but its now stuck with the speed camera warning on which is slightly annoying as its so out of date

Radiowise is only seems to be in certain places so ill be living with that unless it gets any worse

Seems odd to order only thirty F-35Bs to just split them between the Navy and Air Force???
