So it's all new to me ,this x5 lark and I'm after few bit of gen ref , rear prop shaft, I need to know will gearbox get upset if I remove the rear prop to move the car ,as at mo she's stuck and I need to recover it. Want to unbolt the rwd prop and drive it fwd only! Is this possible to get it home. Thanks in advance for any info.

I don't think the car will drive with the prop-shaft removed.
