2006 X3 3.0d manual

Post by rockwell » Tue Feb 05, 2019 10:04 am

Hello all,
had the above for almost 5 years and just hit 138,000 mls. Oils, filters etc changed every 7000-8000 mls. The manual gear change is becoming a little sticky, particularly reverse. Obviously will get the gearbox oil checked but it was also suggested I changed the transfer case oil, I'm sure this has never been changed, would anyone recommend doing this?
Could anyone recommend a supplier? I always buy all oils, filters etc from Opie but they can't help.

Both boxes would benefit from new oil.
The transfer box will need a reset afterwards but a good indi will be able to do it all.

Thanks Alan, I may as well order diff oil as well. Could I reset using a C110 scanner? Otherwise there's a good diagnostic guy close by.

No the c110 can't do the reset.
The foxwell 510 can do it and the iCarsoft BMM V2.0 as well.
