taking the car back to the dealer on Friday for him to look at the bluetooth system. PITA being 100 mile round trip. Strangely when I asked whether the warranty would cover it, he indicated that they wouldn't.

I hope he hasnt sold me some duff warranty which means I have to take it back to him for cover. If so I will cancel it Friday as there should be a 14 days cooling off period....

going to pick the truck up from the dealer tonight. He's had it a week but the BT is sorted. Apparantly took the BMW dealer a couple of hours to find a poor connection.....!

Happy days - I can offload the crap fiesta courtesy car lol!

still not working. Although now it tries to pair. It fails saying wrong password! The lights come on and it deletes previous pairings. Tried 2 phones. Blackberry and HTC DHD.

You need the BMW BT modules passcode....should be on a card with the Owners Manual. If not, its on the module itself, in the boot. Sanj has a piccie of exactly where to find it......I'm sure he'll be along soon. You may have to read it upside down, but its definitely on the module itself on a sticker, so if you don't have the card, it'll be there. Maybe BMW changed the module and didn't change the code on your card??
It does sound like one of those cheap warranties though. Except that buying from a dealer, for up to three months there is an expectation that the car work as it should, which is why he is probably helpful at this point. Its one of those problems buying from far afield, though, unless its a BMW AUC. I've made myself a promise that any purchase of any other BMW will only ever be an AUC or a new car (if only!) I love my 4.8 but its had a new BT module, new PDCs, split oil cooler and two call outs for non-starting issues.........thank heavens its an AUC under full warranty.......

I think it is the last four digits on the BT Module. Can't remember fully though.

Can't post pics sorry on my way to customer site right now, but look in the left compartment in the boot below the satnav. It's mounted at an angle. There will be a 4 digit passcode clearly marked on it. Use that, the one on the card could be an old one as stated earlier.

I have the passcode on the card from the owners pack. Unless like you say, someone has changed the code.

Can BMW reprogramme the code? Maybe they did this during investigations - will check with the dealer today. PITA. Thought it was all working fine then comes up with either 'cannot complete pairing' or PK password entered incorrectly/number incorrect'. Or something like.

Loving the speedster mate  ....as for the bluetooth/ulf module it is under the red outline here below the plastic trim only three 10mmm plastic nuts and you can see it ;) Image

The module itself will be on the angle and looks like this with a four digit passcode

Image

Its on the angle usualy bolted with a bracket to the amp surround/cover but you may have to take of the bracket to see the sticker with the code on IIRC.

group hug - it works!

Looks like the BT module has been swapped out at some point. The PK number is different and the car now pairs nicely with my phone, loads up my contacts and makes calls properly.

cheers gents. Remap next!
