Sounds like a great car! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it!! When do you actually collect it - make sure you get some photos up?! In terms if your choice of car, you make it sound like your last blast before wife and kids, but you've actually set yourself up with the perfect family car - so all you need now is the wife, 2.2 kids and a friendly golden retriever in the back!

I recall some banter on this forum re one member having spotted another's X5 in the Bluewater car park - so I'm sure there's appetite for a meet round your way!

I have also found this forum to be absolutely brilliant and full of helpful advice. Can't wait till my own X5 arrives next month!

Le mans blue / black Nappa :hattip: if i had the patience i would have waited longer to find one in the spec i wanted, but i settled for a low milage silver one
As for your age, good on you, i respect your choices, I did lots of drinking & other stuff round that age so i had to wait till my 30's to get mines
Enjoy the motor, remember the pic's

To be honest if I can keep it when me and the missus decide to have kids, it will be ideal.

The V8 soundtrack was what made my mind up on getting a 4.8is :D also the fact its like driving a very fast arm chairs lol :driving:

Ringing the guy tonight to find out when I can pick it up, so will let you all know later when you are going to be able to see pics of it

V8 soundtrack is what did it for me too.

4.8is is a good model that came with alot of extras as standard. Nappa Leather was standard as was the heated front seats, adjustable suspension and adaptive headlights. The DSP can be checked on the Nav Screen as there will be an equaliser option on there so no need to search in the boot... if you do though you should see the two small subs in the right hand compartment.

You should enjoy it mate, like I said, I still enjoy mine and i've had it over two years now.

I will have to learn how to use the sat nav system as my 330 now doesnt have it, am sure it wont take long to get used to. I will have a look for the equaliser thing on there though.

Just want it now lol I am so impatient.

If like me you had bought brand new, you might have been waiting a LOT longer :x It took 10 months from the data of order to get my X5 3.0d in 2004, and I only got it that fast because the Dealer had a slot!! RHD Diesels were 'Special Build' then as there was a much smaller market and they were only made at certain times of year - or so I was lead to believe. Of course that could have been salesperson bull, but then again........we are talking BMW here.. ;)

The X6 took just three months. :D But that was an age.

Have had a look at the intravee kit and think that may be an option, atleast I can add an alpine cd changer at a later date if I wanted too. Will porbably have to miss that meet as I am moving house on the 16th of march so will be having to sort out the new place. Will keep my eye out on future meets though.

Ah yes, a belated welcome from my side, also from West Sussex (the ruling county :poke: ).

At your age I was also driving a tank in the shape of a 735i, which I loved. Children have never stopped me having the cars I wanted, just made sure that we always had a family car as well for the daily drag.

Buying a house and upgrading the car at the same time... sounds like me in th year that I bought mine - I bought a house and a business too. The X5 on the drive will have the new neighbours talking... I swear they think i'm a DD when I get out of my car with my hoodie and two dobermans!
